The Vietnam Customs Statistics announced that in the second half (16-31/12/2020) of December-2020 , Vietnam’s total exports of US dollars 15.3 billion and imports of US dollars 14.68 billion resulted in a trade surplus of US dollars 625 million. Accordingly, the total value of export and import turnover of Vietnam in the second half of December was US dollars 29.98 billion, up by 17.9% as compared to the first half of this month.
Vietnam‘s trade-in-goods from January to December of 2020 totaled US dollars 545.36 billion in value terms. It posted a increase of 5.4% (equivalent to USD 27.69 billion) from the same period of previous year. In which, the total merchandise exports value was up by 7% to US dollars 282.65 billion and the total merchandise imports value was up 3.7%, to US dollars 262.7 billion.
In the view of FDI traders, the value of exportation in the second half of December reached nearly USD 11.34 billion, up by 24.9% and the value of importation reached 9.61 billion, up by 14.8% as compared to the first half of December 2020. Therefore, from January to December of 2020, the total value of FDI merchandise trade went up by 14.8% to US dollar 371.90 billion.

When compared with the first half of December-2020, export of second half of December increased by 24.7%, mostly as a result of the upturn registered in telephones, mobile phones and part thereofs (up by 41.4% - USD 790 million); machine, tools and equipments (up by 33.9% - USD 456 million); textile garments (up by 23.9% - USD 301 million); computer electrical product ( up by 10.8% - 220 milion); …
