The Vietnam Customs Statistics announced that in the first half (01-15/10/2020) of October-2020 , Vietnam’s total exports of US dollars 12.72 billion and imports of US dollars 11.92 billion resulted in a trade surplus of US dollars 798 million. Accordingly, the total value of export and import turnover of Vietnam in the first half of June was US dollars 24.64 billion, down by 8.5% as compared to the second half of September-2020.
Vietnam‘s trade-in-goods from January to the first half of October of 2020 totaled US dollars 413.18 billion in value terms. It posted a increase of 2.3% (equivalent to USD 9.27 billion) from the same period of previous year. In which, the total merchandise exports value was up by 4.6% to nearly US dollars 215.25 billion and the total merchandise imports value was down 0.1%, to US dollars 197.93 billion.
In the view of FDI traders, the value of exportation in the first half of October reached USD 8.83 billion, down by 10.2% and the value of importation reached 6.8 billion, down by 3% as compared to the second half of September 2020. Therefore, from January to October 15th of 2020, the total value of FDI merchandise trade went down by 2.7% to US dollar 248.79 billion.
When compared with the second half of September-2020, export of first half of October decreased by 12.2%, mostly as a result of the downturn registered in computer electrical product ( down by 13.7% - 312 milion); telephones, mobile phones and part thereofs (down by 8.9% - USD 257 million); textile garments (down by 15.2% - USD 229 million); …
