According to the Vietnam Customs Statistics, the total merchandise trade value between Vietnam and India in the first 2 month 2021 reached nearly USD 2 billion, rose by 20.8% in comparison to the same period of 2020. The latest statistics show that Vietnam's export turnover to India in the first 2 months of 2021 was USD 1.1billion, an increase of 17% as compared to the same period of 2020.
In 2020, exports to this market were USD 5.23 billion decreased by 21.5% compare to 2019. The two major exported commodities from Vietnam to India 2020 were telephone, mobile phone and parts thereof; machine, equipment, tools and instruments (USD 1,37 billion); computer, electrical products, components and parts thereof (USD 882 million); … The total export value of these two groups accounted for 43% of the total export value of the whole country to this market.
By import side, the total value of imported goods from India in the first 2 months was USD 904 million, increased by 25.8% as compare to the same period of 2020.
In 2020, the total import value from India was USD 4,45 billion, decreased by 2% compare to 2019. The three major imports from Hungary in 2020 were Iron and steel (USD 1.11 billion); pharmaceutical products (USD 257 million) and machinery, equipment, tools and instruments (USD 332 million). The total import value of these groups accounted for 38% of the total import value of the whole country from India.
